Saint Pius X Parish & School Engagement Survey

When I first arrived at Saint Pius X as your pastor, I shared with you a simple but important conviction. My hope was not merely to keep a parish running, but to help form a truly holy parish. A community of faith where people know one another, pray together, serve together, and grow together as disciples of Jesus Christ.

A parish is not meant to be a place we simply visit once a week. It is not a service provider or a religious stop along the way. A parish is meant to be a spiritual home. It is a family entrusted to us by God, and like any family, it flourishes only when its members take responsibility for one another and for the life we share.

For this reason, I am inviting every parishioner to participate in the Saint Pius X Parish and School Engagement Survey.

This survey is not about criticism, complaints, or consumer preferences. It is not about asking what the parish can do for you. Rather, it is meant to help each of us pause and reflect honestly on our own sense of belonging, participation, and commitment to the life of this parish and school.

Being Catholic is not meant to be passive. Discipleship requires more than attendance at Sunday Mass, as essential as Sunday Mass is. It calls us to prayer, to service, to generosity, and to a real investment of ourselves in the community God has given us. When we serve, we are formed. When we commit, our faith deepens. When we give of ourselves, Christ works in us in powerful and often unexpected ways.

This survey has two important purposes. First, it is an invitation to you to reflect on how rooted you are in the life of Saint Pius X spiritually, relationally, and practically. Second, it will help me as your pastor understand where people feel connected, where they feel hesitant, and where clearer invitations and pathways to involvement are needed.

I want to be very clear about something. There is no judgment in this process. Everyone is at a different place in life and faith. The goal is not to pressure, but to invite. A parish grows strong not by demanding involvement, but by fostering a culture where people feel welcomed, needed, and encouraged to take the next step.

You can complete the survey in several ways. A link will be included in my weekly parish email. You may also scan the QR code printed here in the bulletin. The survey is available on the parish website under a tab labeled Survey next to the Home tab. Paper copies will be available in the vestibule for those who need them. That said, we strongly encourage parishioners to complete the survey online whenever possible, as it allows us to gather and review responses more efficiently.

I ask you to take a few minutes to complete the survey prayerfully and honestly. Your voice matters. Your presence matters. Your participation matters.

Together, with God’s grace, we can continue building a parish that is not only active, but holy. A parish where people truly belong, where faith is lived with intention, and where disciples are formed for the life of the Church and the world.

Thank you for your love for Saint Pius X and for your willingness to help shape its future.
