FAITH FORMATION
At St. Pius X, our Catholic faith is woven into every aspect of daily life. From sacraments and prayer, to service and classroom learning, our students grow in their relationship with Christ and live out the Gospel with joy.
Faith at the Heart of School Life
- School begins in prayer every day. At our school-wide morning assembly, students learn new prayers and reflect on the virtue of the week.
- Classes are visited regularly by our pastor, Father Nicholas Napolitano, who joyfully offers the sacraments and supports our faculty and students.
- All students participate in daily, age-appropriate religion classes that guide them in living as joyful disciples of Christ.
Sacramental Life
- The school attends Mass every Friday and on Holy Days of Obligation. Students serve as altar servers, choir members, and lectors.
- Each class spends time in Adoration weekly, learning to listen for the Lord in silence.
- The sacrament of Reconciliation is offered quarterly and anytime by request.
- Second graders prepare for the sacraments of First Penance and First Holy Communion through a dedicated curriculum.
Walking with Jesus
In partnership with parents and our parish, we help students understand that the sacraments are not simply events, but lifelong encounters with a God who loves them deeply.
Catechesis of the Good Shepherd
- Starting in the 2026–2027 school year, CGS will expand to include all students in K3–2nd grade.
- In the atrium, children work with beautiful Montessori-based materials that open their hearts to Scripture and Liturgy.
- Guided by a trained catechist, students participate in CGS weekly, with a goal of helping them fall in love with God as they learn experientially about Him and His Church.
Faith in Action
- Each year, the entire school participates in a retreat day with age-appropriate talks, prayer, and activities that help students encounter Christ more deeply.
- Through the annual Box of Joy project, students assemble Christmas boxes for children in need, learning to share generously from what they have.
- Our Food Drive invites families to support our parish's St. Vincent de Paul food pantry, connecting classroom lessons on charity with concrete service to our neighbors.
