St. Pius X Catholic School is committed to making a high-quality, faith-filled Catholic education accessible to all families who desire it.
WHAT WILL I ACTUALLY PAY?
The actual cost of educating a student at St. Pius X School is approximately $11,800 per year. Through the support of St. Pius X Parish and our benefactors, every student already receives a substantial subsidy.
For the 2026-2027 school year, the published cost for a K-8 student is:
- Tuition: $7,378
- School Fees: $625
- Archdiocesan Fees: $70
- Total Cost: $8,073
Most eligible families further reduce this amount through Alabama's CHOOSE Act, scholarships, and parish financial aid.
Families who receive the CHOOSE Act award, contribute at least $1,300 annually to St. Pius X Parish, and complete the FACTS Financial Aid application will receive Contributor Aid and have their registration fees credited toward the purchase of student books.
For many of these families, the only remaining educational expense is the balance of their books after the registration fee credit has been applied.

THE ALABAMA CHOOSE ACT
The Alabama CHOOSE Act provides families with an Education Savings Account (ESA) of up to $7,000 per student to assist with private school tuition and educational expenses.
- Funds are awarded directly by the State of Alabama.
- Funds may be used toward tuition and other approved educational expenses.
- The CHOOSE Act is the first step for families seeking financial assistance.
ADDITIONAL FINANCIAL AID
Families seeking assistance should complete the following steps:
- Apply for Alabama's CHOOSE Act.
- Apply for scholarships through FACTS.
- Apply for Financial Aid through FACTS.
No family may receive financial aid, including Contributor Aid, without first completing a FACTS Financial Aid application.
Families who contributed at least $1,300 to St. Pius X Parish during the previous calendar year and complete the FACTS Financial Aid application will receive Contributor Aid.
Families who receive the CHOOSE Act award, qualify for Contributor Aid, and complete the FACTS application process will have their registration fees credited toward the purchase of student books.
For these families, the remaining cost of attendance is typically limited to any outstanding book balance after the registration fee credit has been applied.
Additional assistance may also be available for families with multiple children enrolled at St. Pius X School and for families with extraordinary financial circumstances.
