Mission & History

Faith. Knowledge. Community since 1957.

Saint Pius X Catholic School is rooted in a rich Catholic tradition and joyfully focused on the future of our children, our parish, and our community.

Our Mission

Saint Pius X Catholic School offers a quality Catholic Christian environment that promotes intellectual, spiritual, and moral growth. We provide a solid education, rooted in Gospel values and supported through parental and community involvement. In our students we cultivate knowledge and nurture faith, and in so doing, we create the leaders of tomorrow.

Our Roots

Saint Pius X Catholic School opened its doors in September 1957, founded under the guidance of the Benedictine Sisters from Cullman, Alabama, and later the Sisters of Mercy from Limerick, Ireland. Their legacy of faith, service, and excellence continues to shape the school’s mission today.

Over the years, Saint Pius X has grown in both size and spirit. New classrooms, programs, and facilities have been added to serve the evolving needs of our students and families. Now led by a dedicated team of lay educators, the school carries forward the vision of its founding sisters—forming students in faith, knowledge, and character.

Growing with Purpose

Accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools since 1992, Saint Pius X continues to offer a well-rounded education grounded in Catholic values and strong academics.

In 2022, the school completed a full upgrade of its IT infrastructure, ensuring that faculty and students have access to reliable high-speed internet and modern learning tools that support a 21st-century education.

In 2024, the Catechesis of the Good Shepherd program was introduced for preschool and Kindergarten students, offering a rich, hands-on approach to encountering Christ. In 2025, the program expanded to include first grade with a dedicated second atrium space, and there are plans to extend this beautiful model of faith formation through sixth grade in the coming years.

Leadership and a Bright Future

The 2024–2025 school year marked a new chapter of leadership with the appointment of Ms. Emily Dolan as principal. Under her guidance, Saint Pius X looks toward a bright future rooted in tradition, faith, and community.

Renovations are underway to create a beautiful new preschool facility designed to inspire curiosity, creativity, and a lifelong love of learning. These improvements reflect our commitment to providing a warm, safe, and engaging environment for our youngest learners.
